Tenshot (tenshot.app and the Tenshot apps for Android and iPhone/iPad) is a platform where shooting ranges run matches and shooters enter, follow live results and keep their competition history. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- Account. Your email address, a password (stored only as a hash by our authentication provider) and the display name you choose. Optionally, your date of birth and gender — these exist only to place you in the correct competition category and are never shown publicly.
- Competition data. Your match entries, scores, series and results. When a range publishes results, your name, competitor number and scores appear on the public leaderboard for that event — that is the point of the product, in the same way a results sheet is pinned up at a range.
- Training.Sessions you log in the app’s training diary — discipline, score, notes — and any target card you mark, which stores where each shot landed. Only you can see them.
- Community. Posts, comments, likes and any photos or videos you upload to the community feed. These are visible to signed-in Tenshot members.
- Enquiries. If you enquire about equipment or a range, we pass your name, email, optional phone number and message to that seller or range so they can reply.
- Newsletter. Your email, only if you subscribe.
Permissions the apps ask for
- Location — used only in Range Finder, to sort ranges by distance. The app asks your permission the first time you open it, and you can say no and search by city instead. Your coordinates are sent to our server only to sort that list and are never stored.
- Microphone — used only while the Shot Timer is running, to detect the sound of a shot and measure your reaction time. Audio is processed on the device in real time; it is never recorded, saved or uploaded.
How we use it
To run the service: sign you in, let you enter matches, show results, send you the emails you would expect (entry confirmation, password reset) and let ranges and sellers respond to you. We do not sell personal data and we do not show advertising.
Who processes it for us
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage (hosted on Amazon Web Services).
- Amazon Web Services — website hosting (Amplify) and transactional email (SES).
- Google Maps (Android) and Apple Maps(iPhone/iPad) — render the map inside the app’s Range Finder. Their own privacy policies apply to that map.
Your choices
- You can edit your display name, date of birth and gender in your profile at any time.
- You can delete your own community posts and comments.
- To delete your account and the personal data attached to it, open the app and go to Me → Account → Delete account, or email us from the address on your account. This removes your login, profile, training diary, enquiries, community posts and pending applications. Published match results are part of a range’s official record and are retained with your name, exactly as a paper results sheet would be.
Young shooters
Competitive shooting includes junior athletes. If you are under 18, please use Tenshot with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. Ranges are responsible for the entries they accept.
